The IRMS Conference is just around the corner and although restrictions have eased significantly - allowing the event to go ahead with confidence - we're continuing to work hard to ensure the safety of all attendees.

Some of the main precautions that will be implemented at the IRMS Conference 2021 include:
  • Requirement for proof of a negative Covid test (this must be taken on the day of your arrival before you travel to the conference)
  • Extra space in seminar rooms and exhibition spaces
  • Hand sanitiser stations throughout the event space
  • Contactless registration and seminar room scanning
  • Additional ventilation in all areas
  • Regular cleaning of all conference rooms.
The use of face coverings is strongly advised. The organising team will be wearing face coverings wherever possible and we encourage all attendees to be considerate of the well-being of those around them.

For that reason, we will be offering colour-coded lanyards (red or green) at registration to allow individuals to indicate their personal preferences as to whether they are comfortable interacting closely with other attendees.

Please note, the information below is correct at the time of writing, but is subject to change. We will strive to review the information on a regular basis, and we will of course abide by the government guidance that is in place at the time of the conference.
Proof of negative test

We will require you to provide proof of a negative lateral flow Covid test from the day of your arrival, in order for them to be allowed entry to the conference.
To order a box of lateral flow tests visit your local pharmacy or order these online here:
To report a COVID-19 rapid lateral flow test result (within 24 hours of taking the test) please click here:  You will receive a text and email confirmation of your result.  Either of these will qualify as proof of a negative test.
We will have a dedicated Covid marshall to address any queries or concerns onsite at the event.

All conference rooms will be cleaned between each use, and where possible doors will be kept open to maximise ventilation. There will be sanitising stations throughout the conference area, and we will ensure all key touchpoints are regularly sanitised throughout each day and evening.

Conference sessions

Where space allows, we'll adapt seating arrangements including using 'cabaret' and other flexible layouts, and providing increased choice of seating so delegates can space themselves out.

Breaks between sessions have also been extended, to allow more time for catering to be provided (as well as for room cleaning, as above).

For those staying on site during the event, including as part of the full conference package, the team at Hilton are working hard to implement additional measures to ensure the highest level of cleanliness - read more about their CleanStay policy in place in all Hilton hotels.

Members of the organising team will be on hand to answer any queries or concerns and will be extra vigilant to ensure any rules are adhered to.

In the run-up to the event, the IRMS, Revolution and the Hilton Birmingham Metropole will be working together to ensure all appropriate measures are in place to protect the health and safety of all those attending the IRMS Conference 2021.

If you have any questions or if there is anything else you would like us to consider implementing at the event, please email
